Long Lost Post

Reviewing my recent posts I realized i was missing one! I'm not sure what happened but it was completely lost. So here I am posting it again! :)

SATURDAY MARCH 12, 2011

I went to a baby shower for a baby girl and the decorations were so cute! There were red, black and white polka dots everywhere! They used a die cut machine to make large polka dot confetti! It was adorable and I'm stealing the idea for the next shower/party I throw! When I came home I was so inspired by the cute polka dots that I decided to make a ladybug card.

I also want to announce my challenge this month! Being that it is National Craft Month, I've decided to challenge myself to use nothing but scraps from my scrap box for all my cards! If i could get away with it for my scrapbooking I'd do that too! But since my scrapbooking is so specific to certain occasions I don't think I could get away with that. Anyway, here are a few more cards I've done for my challenge!
Enjoy and be inspired!

Scrap Challenge

Well, I've been doing pretty good on my scrap challenge. I made A LOT of cards today and the only thing I used for them that didn't come from my scrap box was the card bases, (the actual card itself). And I can honestly say that these are some of the CUTEST cards I have ever made! P.S. I'll let you in on a little secret I've discovered: A GREAT way to use up your scraps, scraps of ANY size, is to cut out images from your Cricut that require layering! Wow! Have I used A LOT of scrap paper from cutting out layers!? What an awesome way to save paper!
So here are the cards I've made today:

Now, I think they all turned out super cute but these last three are my favorites of the day!

Cartridges used: (all lites) Sugar and Spice & Live Simply.

Hope you are inspired!!!! Happy National Craft Month and happy scrapping!!!

Owl Show You What I Made Today!

Don't you like my little pun???
I made an OWL card today! I'm going to a baby shower tomorrow for a friend 'hoo' is having a little girl and owls are so in right now that I just couldn't resist the cute little owl image from one of my newest cricut lite cartridges, Sugar and Spice. This cartridge is a must have for baby girls! So many sweet images perfect for scrapbook pages, nursery projects and so much more. It's only $39.99 at Wal Mart. I took advantage of the Micheal's Cricut Cartridge Clearance sale in January and used the Wal Mart price matching policy and got all my cricut lites for $10 a piece!
Any'hoo', (ha! I just can't help myself!) here is the picture of the baby shower owl card I made.

(That's my new $1 stamp from Michaels!)
I also made this card using my NEW PINK ATG GUN!!!!! Yaaayyyyyy!!!!! I finally broke down and bought one at Michael's using a 40% off coupon! I'm SO EXCITED to start using it for my projects! I now have the ATG Gun and the Glue Glider Pro gun. The GGP gun is smaller and easier to pack then the ATG gun. And they honestly both work equally wonderfully in my opinion. However, the ATG gun is overall much less expensive then the GGP. the refills for the ATG are only like $3 a box which contains 2 refills in it and that's much better then the GGP refills which are $8 a piece!
Once again, ANY'HOO', that's my little comparison of the two. And now here's a pic of my new ATG Gun.

I have been itching to scrapbook and hopefully it won't be long before I can scrapbook with my new toy!

National Craft Month

March is National Craft Month and how appropriate that I'll be doing my first arts and crafts festival as a vendor during this month as well?! I'd like to say I planned that but I did not! Ha! I've been so preoccupied with Hudson's birthday party that I've hardly had time to start crafting my next items for the event, trivet sets.. Also called hotplates down here in the South! I've only done a few so far and they are looking GREAT!
The first thing I worked on before the party for this event is stationery sets. Here are a few examples:
(sorry for the bad lighting.. I'll try to do better with that next time!)

Can't wait to get some real time to do more crafting for the Patriot Arts and Craft Show... Saturday March 26th from 8am-5pm at West Ridge Middle School! Hope there is a GREAT turnout as they are trying to raise money for their art department!

Happy Crafting! Hope you are inspired to celebrate National Craft Month with me!!!

COMING SOON:
Soon I'll be posting about how to celebrate National Craft Month with quick, easy and affordable thinking out of the box projects!
Not only for celebrating, but for anyone who has little to no time to sit down and spend hours on a project!
STAY TUNED!

Birthday Favors

So, I told you I would post pics of
Hudson's birthday party favors when i finished them. Keep in mind the theme of the party is monkeys. I still have 4 left to do with a banana on the front. But I have finished 8 of them. 4 with monkeys, 4 with palm trees. I cut the images out on my Cricut using the Animal Kingdom (monkey/bananas) cartridge and the Stretch Your Imagination (palm trees) cartridge. I think the monkeys were cut at 4 inches and the palm trees at 5. Oh! And in order to make the monkeys cute I had to outline them first with my Cricut markers before cutting them out! I do not like the way Animal Kingdom has their cuts set up. I'm glad it's a borrowed cartridge! I will definitely be buying Create a Critter instead! But thanks to my aunt for letting me use it! I'd rather have that monkey then none at all!
Anyway, i think they turned out really cute!
Inside I put 4 items: monkey beach ball, mini bubbles, monkey sucker, and a monkey beanie baby! Special thanks to my wonderful mother in law who bought all but the bubbles! She's also helping with the food!
Anyway, enough is enough! Here are the pics!

Hope you are inspired today!

My Favorite

I thought I'd share the most favorite drawing I've done so far in my drawing class. The lesson for this assignment was finding a vantage point. Where everything points to that one spot on your paper. It was a little difficult at first but once I found out where it was, it was easy sailing from there. I normally don't like to draw but this class is challenging me and bringing out a side in me that I didn't know existed! Hopefully, this drawing will make the art board like my other drawings! Enjoy!
